If a pizza place or any restaurant sells Calzones but not Stromboli there are 2 probable reasons. One is that they don’t know the difference between the two. Which is a good reason to turn around right there.
But, the biggest reason is the way they are shaped. Stromboli is more rolled or Burrito shaped and, really requires fresh pliable dough. Some places think a Calzone is just a pizza folded in half so will still put it on the menu using boxed refrigerated dough circles. So this is why I say if you see Calzone on the menu but not Stromboli… forget about it.
